An Easy Detox Diet

An Apple a Day.....and Maybe Half a Cupful of Berries too!

I have spent weeks scouring the web for the site, and finally I found it! Here it is www.easy-detox-diet.com , with classy in-depth reviews of some of the top natural detox diets available anywhere. Why all the emphasis on diets? Well did you know that the old adage 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away' probably carries a lot of truth? The reason is not just the wonderful vitamin rich benefits of the apple alone, but is largely due to its high anti-oxidant qualities. We would give anything to find a quick sure way to a natural detox program that would ensure health and longevity, wouldn't we? Isn't it a great idea to also pursue a delicious healthy eating habit that anyone can adhere to with no effort at all!

I remember as a child, being told by my parents that a lot of the goodness of the apple, and especially the vitamins, lay just under its skin! We were told to wash the fruit and eat it, skin and all, as peeling would result in us throwing the most nutricious and beneficial part of the fruit away! I never really believed that there was any truth to this bit of homespun wisdom though, and it was many years later before I discovered that in actual fact a wonderful health benefit does lie in the skin itself! My parents were absolutely correct!

Apples, like all brightly colored fruits, have a miraculous colorful pigment in the skin which has wonderful healthful strong anti-inflammatory and ant-oxidant properties. So eating your regular juicy, crisp and crunchy, delicious apple will promote well-being as you enjoy it! It will ensure a quick route to detox your body and add many years to your life!

Why are anti-inflammatories so important to our well being? Inflammation is the reaction of the body to irritation, injury, or infection. We are all familiar with the results of a painfully swollen ankle or bruise, and we commonly think of inflamation only in those terms, but it is also a component of many chronic illnesses, and it is important to treat inflammation of this type before it causes more widespread problems.

The beauty of anti-inflammatory foods, is that we can help this healing process along completely naturally, often without having to resort to powerful drugs and medication. Even better, the effect of regularly eating these delicious fruits, is ongoing and builds resistance to many of the chronic diseases that affect so many people who follow bad eating habits. Regularly eating quantities of junk foods, high in animal fats and sugar, like all typical fast foods will increase inflammation of the body. Something we all want to avoid.

This is where berries come in. Another childhood memory is standing on a sunny hillside, gazing along the rows of strawberry plants, filled with luscious bright red fruits, just waiting to be picked! There is something magical about picking berries directly off the plant, bush or tree and eating them on the spot! Now many berries too are loaded with health-giving anti-inflammatories and anti-oxidants. Especially high up on the list are the strawberries we mentioned, and that other old favorite, the blueberry.

Cranberries also famously contain a substance that is known to prevent and heal bladder infections, and while they cannot be eaten raw, drinking a glass of cranberry juice for breakfast every morning achieves this benefit. So it is a wonderfully healthy way to start the day.. Eating a diet rich in blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, cranberries and strawberries may help to reduce your risk of many chronic illnesses, so why wait?

Talking of breakfast, your health-giving, cholesterol-lowering, daily bowl of oatmeal can be wonderfully enhanced both taste and benefit-wise by sprinkling some dried cranberries over it. Snacking on health-giving berries, and nuts is a fantastic way to help detox your body and at the same time give you the pleasure of knowing that the food you enjoy is really good for you! .
